The Unique London Secondary Glazing Survey & Installation System
Achieving the best secondary glazing installations in London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey and throughout the Home Counties.
Sub Frame Installation & Measuring
Most Secondary Double Glazing is fitted to discreet timber sub-frames to provide all round rigid support, excellent sealing and a blended in finish.
To guarantee a perfect secondary glazing installation, we fit the sub-framing first - then and only then, do we measure for the actual Secondary Glazed Units.
This is especially important for Multiple Units fitted over large Window Spans, Splayed Bay Windows and Door and Window Combinations.
This method enables us to deal with out of square openings before measuring the units - avoids measuring and calculation errors - as well as allowing time for the painting and drying of the sub-frames before the actual Secondary Double Glazing is installed.
We are the only Secondary Glazing Installer using this system - it takes a little longer, but ensures that you get the Best Secondary Glazing Installation possible!
Curves, Arches & Shaped Units
Many properties throughout London and the Home Counties include feature and decorative windows with Arched or Curved Heads, as well as Semi-Circular, Circular (Porthole) and Shaped Windows.
After our carpenter has made and fitted the sub-frames for these units, he or she then makes individual MDF templates which are sent to the factory to ensure a perfect fit.
Apart from the traditional tape measure and MDF templates, we also use laser measuring for any complicated shapes.
After the survey, all measurements, MDF templates and glass specifications (thermal, acoustic, combination, safety, etc.) are sent to the factory for manufacture.
The Secondary Glazing Installation
Approximately two weeks after the survey, we will be with you to carry out the actual Secondary Glazing Installation.
All units are securely screw fixed using our concealed fixing system, square and tight to the sub-frames, on bedding compound, then sealed with mastic and silicone seals.
We then finish off as necessary, by fitting appropriate architraves, mouldings and quadrants from our extensive stock range - to ensure a finish that blends in with the original windows and your décor.
Upon completion, we clear any swarf, grit, dust and dirt and vacuum the frame channels, polish the glass - and then remove our rubbish, tidy and clean up the work area.
The above, unique to London Secondary Glazing Survey and Installation System, ensures that you get a perfectly fitted, superb looking Secondary Glazing Installation - that will do the job of keeping the heat in and noise out, for many years to come.
